I thought since this is my first column and the fed is just beginning, it would be cool to throw out a few possible storylines for you guys. They’re storylines I’d like to see and I’m sure the rest of you wouldn’t mind seeing them either if they’re done right. That’s why I’m going to take the initiative here and tell the complete story on how the feuds should go. I wrote a column earlier that just went through feuds I’d like to see but I thought that the reason for each was basically the same and I had pretty much everyone feuding with everyone so why even bother posting that. This time around I’ll pick my three or four favorite feuds from the previous column and go in-depth telling how I think each feud should progress. So let’s get started. Venom/HBK Here’s one that I thought of earlier that would be pretty cool. I was struck with the idea after reading Venom’s RP. -Venom creates a “pecking order” and goes down it gaining revenge against all the Fed X’ers who cost him the World title way back when. Over the next few shows he does run-ins spoiling victories, attacks people backstage, etc. as he goes down the list. -He eventually reaches HBK’s name near the end of the list. HBK is a little slicker than the rest of the guys though and is able to slip away from what looks like a beating every time because it’s obvious he’s next on the list and sees the attacks coming. -Venom botches a few attempts to seek revenge against HBK and finally just challenges him to a match at the next pay-per-view. This would be a big storyline by then so a good gimmick match would be in order. Maybe a cage match or a hell in the cell match. Something that would keep HBK from “running away” which is how he kept himself away from Venom prior to the match. -The last step in the Venom/HBK feud would be the match. The outcome would effect Venom’s future. If he won, he’d move on to the guy he “should’ve” beat for the World title; Owen Hart. If HBK was able to best him, it would end things and both could go their separate ways. It wouldn’t make much sense for Venom to skip over HBK’s name on the list and go to Owen’s anyway, would it? I don’t think so. Of course, you could always keep it going for another month and have a re-match. But I’d say if Venom failed the second time around, that would definitely end the storyline. Terra/Thunder I’ve fought these two guys a combined three billion times so I find it hard to believe they’ve never had a feud of their own. But I’ll be damned, I can’t remember one. That’s why I’ve decided they should have a feud. And here’s how it should go… -There’s no other way to start this feud off then by teaming them up because of a common hatred for Owen Hart. Once the bond is established, they slip into a few tag team matches and before you know it, we have a new tag team. -Once the tag team thing has gotten stale and both want to pursue singles careers (shouldn’t take ‘em long), they can put the break up plan into action. I don’t want to see it go the same way all other tag team break ups go though. You know, a few miscommunications until there's finally a blow up. Someone of high authority should get back at Owen for something he did that didn’t sit well and book the Owen haters in a triple threat against him. So you have Owen vs. Thunder vs. Terra. But what happens? The two tremendous egos can’t decide who gets to put Owen away and win the match. There’s the dissension. -The only next step is for one of the two to lay a challenge on the table. Like the above feud, you’d need a good gimmick match to settle things. I’m sure Thunder wouldn’t have to think very hard to come up with a gimmick match but I can’t think of one that would suit this storyline well enough at the moment. -The last step is of course, the match. Since I don’t want storylines to be the deciding factor in matches, this one would go to however earned it. There’s always the option to have them go to two pay-per-view matches also. Owen Hart/Shawn Michaels Come on, like this one CAN’T happen eventually. HBK and Owen have been buddy-buddy for like a year. The time will come to sever the relationship and go in different directions. I might as well throw out a possibility for how it could happen. -This could all start with Vinny going singles. Owen could get bored kicking ass on his own and would ask HBK to be his tag team partner. HBK would agree and the Can-Something Connection would be born. -The two would tag but either get nowhere as a tag team, or succeed way too easily. They’d get bored with it and secretly want to go singles again. But being such good friends, neither wants to break it to the other that they want to stop tagging. -They would both meet secretly with the booking committee about possibly getting World title shots or atleast getting a few singles matches. They would be granted their singles matches and when the two would get to the arena and see a singles match where their tag match should be they’d put on a nice “performance” about how upset they are. -Somehow, it’ll come out that they met with the booking committee in secret. The other will be offended even though they wanted out too. They’ll say that if a singles match is what they want so bad, then they got one… against each other. Again, a gimmick match is in order. -The match. Again, it would go to whoever deserved it. Option to continue to another PPV… Terra/Shawn Michaels I know, it seems like all the feuds I want to see have HBK filling one of the roles. Maybe I subconsciously want to see him get his ass kicked. No that can’t be it. I consciously want to see him get his ass kicked. Just kidding, Dennis. I want to see this happen because you’re such a Terra mark. Anyway, the feud… -HBK will get the word out that he’s looking to restart DX. Owen won’t want anything to do with it (which could be another way to start an Owen/HBK feud), nor will Primetime, or anyone else HBK asks. Finally, HBK will ask Terra. When Terra says no too, HBK snaps. Since he and Terra are friends behind the scenes, Shawn will take it as the ultimate insult. -Shawn will challenge Terra to a match. You think that’s all I can think of for this feud? No way. Terra, being Shawn’s friend even though he doesn’t want to be in DX, will try to stay in good graces with Shawn and decline the challenge. He’ll then try to make amends with good ole HBK. -Shawn will be responsive and become friends with Terra once again. Maybe Terra eventually agrees to form DX with Shawn or maybe they just become on camera friends much like Owen and HBK are now. But deep down HBK is still peeved about the “ultimate insult.” -Once Terra least expects it, Shawn will turn on him. He’ll leave him a bloody mess backstage or leave him high and dry in a tag team match against two very powerful guys. -That will be reason enough for Terra to bring that challenge back to life. HBK will accept of course. -The match. Since this seems more like a column about who I’d like to see HBK feud with, I’ll try to think of another… Bazooka/Terra The seeds were planted for this rivalry at the end of the NSW. Might as well pick up where the NSW left off. -It all starts when Terra captures a higher ranking title than Bazooka’s Hardcore strap. I’d say the Nation-Wide title. Bazooka buddies up to Terra one day out of nowhere. -Bazooka tells Terra that for a fee, he’ll protect Terra and make sure that Terra never loses the Nation-Wide title by run-ins and/or beating up Terra’s opponents backstage just before the match. -After a little “bonding,” maybe Terra returning the favor and helping Bazooka in a few matches, the “fee” is no longer required. -The relationship eventually gets so close that Bazooka honors Terra by asking him if he wants to replace Grenade and restart the Army Ratz. Terra accepts and the Army Ratz are reborn. -After an unknown wrestler scores a Nation-Wide title shot against Terra, Bazooka finds him backstage. They work out a little deal where said wrestler will come down with a temporary “injury” when the match comes up. -When the match rolls around, wrestler X wheels himself out in a wheel chair or hobbles out on crutches and says that he sprained his xylophone bone and won’t be able to wrestle tonight. He says that he found a replacement and introduces Bazooka. -Bazooka steps through the curtain with a smile on his face. He runs down the ramp, slides in the ring, picks Terra’s jaw up off the mat, and slaps him around the ring. He scores a win on a shocked Terra for the Nation-Wide title. -Bazooka ducks a rematch for the next few weeks until a booker steps in and TELLS Bazooka he’ll defend against Terra at the next pay-per-view. -Match. How was that guys? Worth reading? I hope. If any of you want a storyline just get together with whoever you want to feud with and come up with something like this.
