Amped Results 1-13-2002

[The Amped theme, Amped by Grip Inc. begins to play. A promo rolls of last weeks event. We’re then taken inside the RCA Dome. The camera pans the screaming audience before focusing on the stage. Pyros explode there and above the ring. The Amped theme then begins playing inside the arena. The camera pans the audience once more before we cut to Heenan, Ross, and Lawler at ringside.]

Heenan: Hello everyone and welcome to Amped. We’ve got quite a card lined up for you folks tonight.

Lawler: That’s right and we can’t wait to get to it so… let’s not wait. Bring on the first match.


Bazooka vs. Ant vs. Darkside vs. Shadow

[Darkside took Shadow to the outside where they battled for the better part of the match. Bazooka and Bullet stayed inside making good use of the trash cans, broom sticks, chairs, and even a sandbag. After piledriving Shadow on the exposed cement floor of the arena, Darkside went inside and made it a two-on-one against Bullet. Bazooka and Darkside together launched Bullet into the first row of the crowd then concentrated on each other. Bazooka clocked Darkside with a chair then hit a new move, a suplex into a swinging neckbreaker, onto the chair. He covered Darkside to retain his title.]

Winner: Bazooka


The Ant vs. Kevin Storm

[Ant made quick work of Storm and pinned him. Just before the ref could count the three, Ant pulled Storm up and tossed him outside. Ant then grabbed anything he could use as a weapon and pounded Storm with it. The ref called for the bell but Ant was relentless. Officials hit the scene but couldn’t stop Ant from pummeling Storm with random objects. Ant didn’t stop until storm was left bloody and unconscious. Ant looked into the camera and said he was getting a Hardcore title shot at Impact against Bazooka and warned Bazooka that what he just saw is only the beginning.]

Winner: Kevin Storm (by DQ)


D.L. Money vs. “Magnificent” Mitch Montell

[Both performers come out to a mixed reaction. It’s a very physical match with the momentum shifting every few minutes. The high flying moves draws the interest of the fans who are on their feet cheering for these two men they’ve never seen before. They take the battle to the outside and use a weapon or two to gain the advantage. Since there’s no DQ’s in this Frog Splash match, it’s all legal. Finally, the match is taken back inside the ring. Again, the momentum shifts a few times. D.L. Money finally does enough damage to get to the top rope and hit the Frog Splash. Unfortunately for him, Montell rolls out of the way at the last minute. Montell hops up to the top rope and delivers the frog splash to D.L. before he can recover.]

Winner: Mitch Montell


Owen Hart vs. Casper

[Owen dominates the first half of the match until Thunder comes out to the stage to watch the match. The distraction gives Casper a chance to come back. He hits a few punishing moves on Owen and almost gets a three count or two. Owen is finally able to get back in control of the match. He takes Casper down with an enziguri and climbs to the top rope. He removes his elbow pad and signals for the elbow drop. Owen doesn’t go though, because Thunder is walking down the ramp. Vinny and Johnny try to stop him but Thunder walks right past. Thunder stands outside the ring behind Owen making Owen very nervous. Owen finally leaps off the top rope but Thunder pulls Casper out of the way. Owen his nothing but mat. Thunder backs away from the ring and says he never touched Owen. Owen slides out of the ring and slaps Thunder across the face. Thunder snaps but he knows he can’t strike Owen. He holds his anger in. He clinches his fist and screams while Owen stands right in front of him. Casper gets to his feet and receives a very hard right hand from Thunder for it. Thunder takes his anger for Owen out on Casper in a big way. The bell rings.]

Winner: Casper (by DQ)


Thunder vs. Emmitt

[Thunder walks out still fuming about getting slapped. Emmitt comes down accompanied by Primetime. Once Emmitt steps foot inside the ring, Thunder begins pummeling him. Emmitt looks like he fears for his life, the way Thunder is beating him. Thunder locks on an ankle lock. Emmitt screams in pain and reaches out to Primetime but Primetime just laughs. Emmitt finally taps then rolls out of the ring afraid of Thunder. Thunder stands in the middle of the ring breathing heavy and glaring at Emmitt. His intensity gets him a huge ovation from the crowd.]

Winner: Thunder
